Blank, basic or fullset?

Understand BJD listing options and build a clear first-doll checklist. Confirm the actual head, body, styling and total quote before buying.

The short answer

Start here.

Read the contents of the selected option, not just its photo or title. “Basic”, “blank” and “fullset” are prompts to ask what is included, not a universal list of everything you will receive.

A basic doll can still have a faceup

Ringdoll has a configuration explicitly described as a basic doll with face makeup. This example shows why “basic” cannot safely be treated as always unpainted. Use the current selected option’s contents, not the label alone.

Write down every piece you expect

SOOM states that its dolls follow the basic configuration and options specified on the product page. For any maker or seller, ask for a written inclusion list that matches the exact option you selected.

Blank headIs it head-only, without a faceup? What else is included?

FullsetAre the pictured wig, clothes, shoes, props and stand included?

Finish the plan before the payment decision

For head and body combinations, Ringdoll’s own example asks buyers to choose using neck circumference and the relevant body model. A matching height label is not enough evidence of fit.

  • Keep the exact model, skin option and source link.
  • Confirm current availability or preorder terms with the seller.
  • Request item, optional work, domestic freight, service and international shipping as separate quote lines.
  • Use your budget as a preference; wait for a confirmed total.

Put it into practice

Your next steps.

  1. Exact selected listing option
  2. Included head, body and styling pieces
  3. Maker and part measurements
  4. Current stock or preorder terms
  5. Remaining balance, fees and shipping in the written quote

Common questions.

Does fullset always include a stand?

No universal inclusion list is assumed. Ask the seller about every pictured item, including the stand.

Is a deposit the total price?

Treat it as incomplete cost information until the seller confirms the remaining balance and all charges.

Sources & scope.

These guides explain common starting points. Names, measurements, included items and care instructions vary by maker and model. Follow the current maker’s instructions and confirm the exact doll’s specifications before buying, cleaning or changing parts.

We prioritise doll makers’ own information. A maker’s example describes that maker’s products; it is not a universal size or compatibility standard.
